Post-Doc researcher @ University of Milan-Bicocca (Milan, Italy)
Structural geologist with expertise on investigating the relations between magmatic processes, seismicity distribution and brittle deformation in the upper crust within active volcano-tectonic environments, through multidisciplinary approaches.
What are magma pathways towards the surface? What are the conditions that inhibit this movement or keep it at certain depths? The objective of my Post-Doctoral research project is to work towards the resolution of these scientific questions, through the definition and modeling of a three-dimensional scenario to describe stress state changes at the surface and in the upper crust in extensional volcano-tectonic contexts. This is crucial for a correct interpretation of processes of magma migration with important implications in terms of volcanic and seismic hazard assessment.
My PhD and Post-Doc lead me to experience amazing field campaigns all over the world, among which I cite:
- Northern Volcanic Zone, Iceland;
- Greater Caucasus, Georgia;
- Italian Alps;
- Santorini, Greece;
- Sakurajima volcano, Japan.
